A quick recap of Anime Boston 2011!
As the largest convention in the New England area, Anime Boston has been a convention that I’ve attended almost every year since 2005, making this year my sixth Anime Boston. I must admit that aside from a handful of anime and manga series, I wouldn’t exactly consider myself as much of a fanatic as the average AB attendee, but I usually end up having a lot of fun at Anime Boston, and despite mucky weather and exhaustion, this year was no exception.

Me, with my gorgeous friends in Human Sushi, cosplaying Magic Knight Rayearth.
I wasn’t planning to show up on Friday until after work, but luckily, we were let out early, so I beelined over to the Hynes Convention Center. I immediately tracked down my friends of the award-winning cosplay group, Human Sushi, since they are almost always bombarded by photographers. This year, they knocked everyone dead with their gorgeous Magic Knight Rayearth costumes, and won two awards in the Masquerade, and I am ridiculously proud of them. And for those of you who are going to Boston Comic Con this weekend, you may recognize the Hikaru cosplayer (in pink) as none other than featured artist Sara Richard :)

I made my way over to Artist Alley to pick up this cute Batgirl & Robin print from iamacoyfish, and visited some of my other friends at their respective booths. For AB attendees who are also comics fans, I highly recommend hitting up Artist Alley (which I’ll admit that I didn’t visit until last year’s Anime Boston) for a great selection of fan art. Likewise, I met an adorable Question cosplayer at one of the booths, and I ran into Karen and Mona (who was rocking a stellar Donna Troy getup!) in Artist Alley on Saturday! AW YEAH DC NERD PARTY!
Unfortunately, I was incredibly exhausted on Saturday and didn’t make it to the convention until mid-afternoon, so I apologize if I seemed a bit out of it this past weekend. In turn, my late arrival meant that I ended up missing the DC Comics photo shoot, running into a few of my friends, and all the panels that I planned to go to, but such is life. Regardless, I still had a lot of fun wandering around and seeing most of my friends in costume (fact: at one point, a bunch of my friends were wearing Pikachu/Raichu kigurumis, and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever). Anyway, onto my favorite cosplay of the weekend!

Rosalie as Envy Adams [Scott Pilgrim]

Nikki as Morrigan [Darkstalkers]

Monarch henchgirl - so cute!

Vicky as Bellossom [Pokémon] :D

The best Captain Hammer I’ve ever seen, mostly because he has ♪ FOUR SWEATER VESTS ♫.

A gorgeous Black Widow.

Klaus Nomi cosplay FTW.

Not cosplay, but Sam and Eric (the boys of Damage -> MP) always look swag as fuck.
As for Sunday, we all just relaxed, did some last minute shopping (my bounty can be seen over HERE), and celebrated the end of Anime Boston 2011 with a much-deserved treat at Pinkberry :)
