Check out these beautiful Wonder Woman heels that comiccharm customized (and a great tutorial on how you can make your own!) ★
As promised, a tutorial to paint yourself some awesome Wonder Woman shoes! I drew on these myself but if you’re feeling slightly less artistic instead of painting onto your shoes you could always decoupage printed stuff (like comics!) onto your shoes using this tutorial.
To start let’s talk materials. You’ll need a pair of clean shoes, a black sharpie, some paint and brushes.
For paints I used tins of gloss enamel paint. Enamel paint is great for shoes because it can take a lot of wear and tear, has a beautiful gloss finish and is not water soluble when it dries. I don’t recommend using acrylic paints because they won’t last as long.
After you’ve drawn your design on your swanky clean shoes with the black sharpie it’s time to paint! Make sure you have some newspaper or something to sit your work on because this tends to get messy. You’ll need at least 3 coats of paint to get a nice flat coating.
Your first coat will be very streaky but that’s okay, with every coat you add the paint will build up nicely. Be sure to make sure every layer dries before painting a new layer on top.
As you can see I’ve painted over quite a few of the sharpie lines but that’s okay, I’ll be going over them again when the paint is dry.
The layers are building up nicely and you can see the gloss finish emerging.
Another shot. Wait until the paint fully dries on your shoes before going over your line work again with the black sharpie.
It’s sharpie time again!
Aaaand, we’re done! Feel free to ask questions about these on this post or in my ask box.
