Batman Hot Pants 3 Pack, $19.50, Hot Topic.
This set of Bat-unmentionables offers everything that you could ever want from a pair of super-skivvies: studs, glow-in-the-dark Bat-symbols, and trompe-l’oeil utility belts. One could only hope that these undies also prevent VPL under a Kevlar-lined bodysuit…

In regards to my most frequently asked question.
Until DC Comics takes a hint, please refer to my lingerie tag [located in my Style Index, which conveniently sorts my posts by comic, character, and apparel] for comic-related unmentionables :)

Cosplay That I Hope To See This Year

bettyfelon:

  • drag queen interpretations of Adventure Time (servin’ mathematical REALNESS)
  • an actual cosplay photographer cosplaying as Todd Snap
  • Maria Hill, singing Robin Sparkles songs
  • Brave and the Bold Batman, complete with the neon-talking Super-Street Bat-Luge
  • Inspector Spacetime & Constable Reggie (bonus points: Constable Geneva)
  • Ben Wyatt as Batman (bonus points: calzone-shaped Batarangs)
  • Girly Mags Scientist
  • ‘60’s Spider-Man, showing off all the fucks he doesn’t give
  • Big Barda, rocking her bunny slippers
  • “In The Garage” cosplay group: Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, and Rivers Cuomo dressed up as a Dungeon Master

GET ON IT PEOPLE.

Note: I may or may not add more costumes to this list at a later date.

I would be over the moon if I ran into anyone on this list.

Any of these costumes will instantly grant the cosplayer a spot on ComicsAlliance’s Best Cosplay Ever (duh doy!).

Kinetix Releases a ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ T-Shirt Collection [link]

With the release of The Dark Knight Rises this summer, LA-based design company KINETIX has come out with a collection of T-shirts designed in collaboration with the Warner Bros. Exclusively sold on kitson, the T-shirt collection features imagery of Catwoman and Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, as well as classic Batman logos and DC Comics art (including Dustin Nguyen’s artwork for Heart of Hush).

Check out the KINETIX x The Dark Knight Rises collection (and my criticisms regarding the Catwoman/Social Climber top, seen above) on ComicsAlliance!

One of the few perks of this dreary, rainy weather in New England is that we can still cozy up in layers and lightweight sweatshirts, such as these superheroic tops from Junk Food Clothing.

  • Batman Vintage Crew Neck Sweatshirt, $55 [link]
  • Batman Up All Night, $21 (on sale!) [link]
  • Wonder Woman Flashdance Off the Shoulder Fleece, $50, [link]
  • Captain America Flag Vintage Crew Neck Sweatshirt, $55 [link]

P.S. I’ll take the Batman Vintage Crew Neck Sweatshirt in a small, please.

Velvet Batman dress, by All That Jazz [circa 1992]
[currently on sale at Lynn’s Rags]

Despite the fact that this dress is approximately 20 years old, it features some of this year’s hottest (or rather, recycled) trends: velvet, bodycon, mesh cutouts, and The Dark Knight. This dress was originally part of the All That Jazz x Batman Returns retail collection that was released in conjunction with the film in 1992.

Conclusively, Batman never goes out of style.

Best Cosplay Ever (This Week) - 04.10.12
Although cosplay has been present for decades within the comics, anime, and sci-fi/fantasy fandoms, social media has played an integral role in the thriving community of costuming that exists today and cosplay communities such as Cosplay.com and the Superhero Costuming Forum. In honor of the many fans who’ve displayed excellence in the mastery of homemade disguise, craftsmanship, and sartorial superheroics, ComicsAlliance has created Best Cosplay Ever (This Week), a weekly collection of some of the most impeccable, creative, and clever costumes that we’ve discovered and assembled into our own super-showcase of pure fan-devoted talent.
Check out this week’s round-up of the Best Cosplay Ever on ComicsAlliance, featuring Silver Banshee, Bucky Barnes, Predator, Batman (above), and more!
