THIS IS A THING THAT IS HAPPENING TODAY:
Project: Rooftop Panel at HeroesCon (Charlotte, North Carolina)
@ 3 PM, in Room 203B
SIGNAL BOOST! For those of you who are heading to HeroesCon today, be sure to swing by Project: Rooftop panel at 3 pm, in Room 203B. Project: Rooftop co-founder Dean Trippe and P:R regulars like Joel Carroll, Ming Doyle, Joe Quinones and Maris Wicks will be on-hand to talk about superhero fashion!
What is Project: Rooftop?
Project: Rooftop is where cartoonists and illustrators bring their costume design skills to task in tribute to the superheroes and villains we’ve grown up with. This site is intended to promote the idea of superhero costume redesigning as a skill, specific to superhero media. We also aim to foster continued interest for these amazing characters and spotlight up-and-coming creators. (link)
With that said, I’m sure that it’s no surprise that Project: Rooftop has been my homepage for years and continues to serve as a rich source of inspiration for me, as a fan of comics, art, and fashion, and many of the redesigns on Fashion Tips From Comic Strips were originally featured on P:R. So for those of you who are at HeroesCon this weekend, be sure to check out the Project: Rooftop panel today – it’s bound to be a treat!

I love this Stephanie Brown version of Tim Drake’s red and black Robin costume. It’s sleek and streamlined, and actually looks fairly wearable. The opera-length black gloves and the steel-toed boots are subtle, yet effective touches, giving a serious air to Steph’s overall look.
