What A Girl Wants Top, $15.80, Forever 21
I’m not really fond of most slogans featured on superheroes shirts for women, but I love how this particular incarnation of Supergirl’s costume was chosen for this design.

DC Comics x Psycho Bunny scarf [circa 2010, DC Comics’ 75th Anniversary]
I present to you: my new favorite scarf, featuring some of my favorite white people in the DCU.
One last Batgirl/Supergirl comic for the holidays. For whatever you celebrate this time of year (or not at all), I wish everyone a very merry, happy December!
More on this comic here.
Check out Kara & Babs’ adorably merry digs in Mike Maihack’s latest Batgirl/Supergirl comic (note: the pompoms on Babs’ Batcowl are killing me)!
Be sure to check out Mike’s previous Batgirl/Supergirl comics in the links above, and my costume/fashion commentary on Mike’s Batgirl/Supergirl comics on Fashion Tips From Comic Strips!
Mike Maihack created another Batgirl/Supergirl comic (a continuation from his previous comic featuring Supergirl’s never-ending closet of costumes), wherein the ladies discuss the origin of Barbara’s costume and what she’s wearing underneath hers.
Spoiler alert: Everyone has a crush on Batman. And that is pretty much why Bat-shirts are so darn popular.
Superman Bling Logo Necklace, Hot Topic, $18.50
A more affordable (and perhaps more wearable?) alternative to the Supergirl necklace from the nOir Jewelry x DC Comics collection.
Best Cosplay Ever (This Week) - 09.19.11
[please excuse the belated x-post n_n;;]
Although cosplay has been present for decades within the comics, anime, and sci-fi/fantasy fandoms, social media has played an integral role in the thriving community of costuming that exists today and cosplay communities such as Cosplay.com and the Superhero Costuming Forum. In honor of the many fans who’ve displayed excellence in the mastery of homemade disguise, craftsmanship, and sartorial superheroics, ComicsAlliance has created Best Cosplay Ever (This Week), a weekly collection of some of the most impeccable, creative, and clever costumes that we’ve discovered and assembled into our own super-showcase of pure fan-devoted talent.
Check out this week’s round-up of the Best Cosplay Ever on ComicsAlliance, featuring Batwoman/Kathy Kane, Delirium, Samus Aran, Voldemort & the Death Eaters (above), and more!

A little 6-panel SUPERGIRL/BATGIRL comic. For fun. And because I love the characters. And Because Nate Cosby wouldn’t stop bugging me until I drew one.
You can read waaaay too much thinking into this HERE.
Mike Maihack created this fantastic 6-panel comic that perfectly sums up Supergirl’s collection of iconic costumes over the years. I really loved his commentary on Kara’s ever-changing style during the seventies in particular:
“I really love how in the seventies Kara would change outfits almost every issue. It just makes sense in some odd teenaged superheroie kinda way. I grew up with two younger sisters that had more shoes in their closet than I had shirts. One look is not enough. And I think because of how iconic the colors and symbolization of Supergirl are (and because she’s already had so many different looks anyhow) she’s one of the few characters that could get always with it on a monthly title. Okay, maybe the logistics don’t make sense. Maybe on top of the ability to fly and pummel bad guys into the earth, the yellow sun also made Kara an excellent seamstress. Or Martha Kent showed her how. Or Martha Kent makes them FOR her. Whatever the reason, I would bring that back. And I think it says a lot about her personality too.” [link]
Conclusively, DC Comics needs to hire Mike Maihack to launch a SUPERGIRL/BATGIRL series, f’realzies. Get on it, people.
Supergirl Nail Set, $8, Hot Topic
#REALTALK: I actually really adore these nails over the Batgirl Nail Set, especially the second set that represents not only Supergirl, but Batgirl and Wonder Woman as well :D
