We’re skipping out on San Diego Comic Con this year and opting for HeroesCon instead, which is already friendlier to our bank accounts and our schedules (especially now that Jordan & I are traveling Boston ↔ Austin every other month or so~).
I wrote more words about SDCC & HeroesCon on my blog or whatever, but let me know if you’re going to any of these cons~

Best Cosplay Ever (This Week) - 08.05.13 - Boston Comic Con Edition!
By Bethany Fong
As you know from our weekly Best Cosplay Ever feature, we are big fans of cosplay at ComicsAlliance. The comics, sci-fi, gaming and fantasy communities’ talents for homemade disguises, craftsmanship, and sartorial superheroics are definitely on display this weekend at Boston Comic Con, and you’d better believe our own Bethany Fong is on hand to document as much as she can. The convention (which was originally scheduled back in April at the Hynes Convention Center) was postponed and relocated to the Seaport World Trade Center after security concerns in conjunction with the Boston Marathon Bombings. Regardless of the turmoil and grief that Boston experienced a mere few months ago, Boston Comic Con pulled in a great attendance, including some of Boston’s finest cosplayers.

I plan on posting a full recap of Boston Comic Con on my blog soon, but for now, check out the cosplay photos that I managed to capture within the crowded exhibit hall at Boston Comic Con :)

Despite the recent tragedy in Boston, Boston Comic Con is still scheduled as plan this coming weekend (April 20th - 21st). However, be sure to follow Boston Comic Con on Twitter and Facebook for any updates concerning the status of the convention and general security precautions. As of now, please be mindful of bringing prop-weapons to the convention and on public transit - if you have any qualms about whether your cosplay prop will be permitted into the convention center, please contact Boston Comic Con.
As for myself, I will be attending the convention the entire weekend - I will be photographing cosplayers and covering the event for ComicsAlliance. I will also be cosplaying on Saturday with AK and the Boyfriend Wonder, so be sure to say hi if you spot us this weekend!
Are any of you guys attending Boston Comic Con this weekend?Feel free to drop me a line if you are :)

Black Bat & The Spoiler, cosplayed by Betty Felon & Ali Kay
[Boston Comic Con 2012]

At Boston Comic Con, Nate Buchman pulled us aside from the sweltering exhibit hall to do a photoshoot in the more secluded areas of the convention center. AK and I have been wanting to cosplay Cass and Steph for a while now, and I’m still in awe that we were able to pull these costumes together before AK moved across the country. We had a great time bringing our favorite BFFs of the former DCU to life, running around the convention with our capes catching the wind.

We plan on bringing Black Bat & The Spoiler to SDCC (after a few upgrades to our costumes), so look out for us in San Diego this Summer!

Note: A super big thank you to Alex & Juli of Twin Bee, for helping us out with Black Bat’s suit and The Spoiler’s hood ♡ Aside from the boots, the rest of the costume pieces were created by me & AK.

Boston Comic Con was so much fun - we had a blast hanging out with friends, meeting some of our favorite artists, and running around in capes. I already can’t wait for next year’s show!

I’ll post a full convention report later this week, but for now, here are some teaser shots of AK & me as Spoiler & Black Bat!
