LA-based fashion brand JOYRICH has collaborated with DreamWorks to create a decadently tacky streetwear collection starring none other than Richie Rich. Although this is not Richie Rich’s apparel debut (he previously appeared in the MISHKA NYC x Harvey Comics collaboration), JOYRICH’s approach to the character solely features a repetitive motif of Richie holding a large sack of his parent’s money on shirts, skirts, purses, and more.
Judging from the price list, the imagery may serve as an indicator of how many sacks of money you’ll have to shell out for this gear. From $40 iPhone skins to $198 backpacks, it’s clear that JOYRICH x Richie Rich is genuinely and unironically reaching out to stylish rich kids who have enough money bags to cover themselves in an allover pattern of a rich kid holding money bags.
By the way, ComicsAlliance, can you front me $114? I kind of want that Richie Rich skirt.
But alas, it’s sold out in both gunmetal and gold, but I guess it’s okay or whatever since my Gotham City ring has triggered my nickel allergy on several occasions, so I guess I saved myself $300+ worth of itchy wrists or whatever waaah~ Regardless, I’m still quite smitten with this design concept.
Just in time for Fall/Winter vigilantism, Forever 21 has launched the Bats and Cats Collection of apparel, accessories and cosmetics, featuring the iconic motifs of Batman and Catwoman. After the success of previous licensed collections showcasing the designs of Hello Kitty/Sanrio and Minnie Mouse, the Bats and Cats line is the first comic-centric collection that Forever 21 has released. Although Forever 21 has occasionally carried DC and Marvel apparel (primarily graphic tees), this collection features a wider variety of merchandise, including Bat-emblem leggings, Catwoman sweaters, and purses covered in gold bat-shaped studs, and more.
Last Thursday, I came down with a bad cold and thought that the Bats & Cats Collection was just a fever dream. I woke up the following morning with a shipping confirmation in my inbox and a slight dent in my checking account.
I’ll post a review/unboxing of the items that I ordered once my shipment arrives~!

Green Lantern gloves, by Karl Lagerfeld [Colette x DC Comics’ 75th Anniversary Collection]
These rhinestone-adorned fingerless gloves are a loose, high-end interpretation of Green Lantern’s power ring. This look could easily be replicated with a little DIY with some rhinestones and a pair of pleather wrist-length gloves.
