Velvet Batman dress, by All That Jazz [circa 1992]
[currently on sale at Lynn’s Rags]

Despite the fact that this dress is approximately 20 years old, it features some of this year’s hottest (or rather, recycled) trends: velvet, bodycon, mesh cutouts, and The Dark Knight. This dress was originally part of the All That Jazz x Batman Returns retail collection that was released in conjunction with the film in 1992.

Conclusively, Batman never goes out of style.

Sew It Like You Mean It Dress, $164.99, Modcloth.

This cheerful Spring dress features a few of my favorite things: comic strip prints, sewing, and a beautiful silhouette with a full, A-line skirt. Since this dress is currently out of stock, I’m crossing my fingers that this print pops up in some other incarnation on Modcloth.

Catwoman, Christian Dior Haute Couture, Spring/Summer 2001.
Inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costume in Batman Returns.

I love how this ensemble incorporates structural and design aspects of both Selina’s office civvies in the film and the black patent trench coat that Selina reconstructs into her costume.

And now I suddenly feel inspired to create a skirt inspired by this Christian Dior design, inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s digs in Batman Returns

I guess I better get sewing.

haniemohd:

Drew this tonight to reward myself for completing half of my work! (half yikes T__T) It’s a Wondy-inspired dress, re-worked based on an old doodle in my sketchbook. Also - I have a Facebook page for my dinky arts so please follow if you like those stuff :3 ————————————————-

Can this entire outfit please be real? This ensemble is simply too perfect, from the gold headband to the red & white T-strap heels.

Cream Wonder Woman print nightshirt, $36, Topshop.
Despite the fact that this is a nightshirt, it definitely looks long enough to wear as a casual t-shirt dress. It’s not really my style per se, but I could totally see this styled into an Americana outfit (just in time for Independence Day festivities!), with a cropped worn-in jean jacket, a thin brown leather belt, and red ankle cowboy boots.
