ComicsAlliance’s New Custom Batman Converse: ‘Arkham City’ Sneakers! [link]

As part of its DC Comics x Converse’s Fall/Winter collection, shoemaker Converse launched itsnewest Design Your Own DC Comics Chuck Taylor All Star shoes campaign this week, featuring artwork from the Batman: Arkham City video game. Similar to the previous Design Your Own DC Comics Sneakers process, this feature allows the customer to design their own shoes by offering a selection of customizable parameters, including innovative digitally-printed canvas, rubber soles, lining, and even a personalized heel strip.

Converse invited me to demo the new “Design Your Own Arkham City Chuck Taylor All Stars” during New York Comic Con last month, and after the meticulous process of customizing every detail, I ended up with a great pair of kicks featuring the Arkham City incarnations of Batman and Catwoman.

Check out my review of Converse’s customizable Arkham City sneakers on ComicsAlliance!

Teen Titans x Converse sneakers, $35.99 [available at Journeys]
Teen Titans Robin x Converse sneakers, $37 [available at Converse]

Last Wednesday, I was invited to an event at the Converse store in SoHo, where I got an exclusive sneak peek on the latest and upcoming additions to the Converse x DC Comics collection. The shoes that immediately caught my eye were the Teen Titans Chucks, based off of the designs from the Teen Titans Go! cartoon series. While I wasn’t an avid fan of TTG!, I’m thrilled that Converse finally released kicks featuring my favorite sidekick.

Unfortunately, these Teen Titans sneakers are only available in youth sizes at the moment. Now, I know that I can’t be the only adult who wants Robin sneakers, right?*

Side note: the motif on the inner tongue of the Robin sneakers is killing me. I require a pair of Chucks with an allover Robin symbol motif ASAP.

*RIGHT.

ComicsAlliance Demos Converse’s Customizable DC Comics Sneakers [link]

As the latest installment in the DC Comics x Converse collection, Converse launched today its Design Your Own DC Comics Chuck Taylor All Star shoes campaign, featuring mix-and-match custom shoe design options that include Batman, The Joker, Catwoman, and The Riddler. This exclusive feature allows the customer to design their own shoe by offering a selection of customizable parameters, including the color/print of the canvas, emblems, rubber soles, lining, and even a personalized heel strip.

Converse offered me the opportunity to demo the entire Design Your Own DC Comics Chuck Taylor All Stars process early, and I tweaked every single design parameter to utter purrfection. Check out my review of the product and process and the un-boxing photos of my combative kicks on ComicsAlliance!

Chuck Taylor DC Comics - Batmobile (Kids 1-3 yr), $37, Converse
Although the current DC Comics x Converse catalog is pretty sweet, none of the designs have really made me rush out to purchase a pair of kicks; partially because I seldom wear sneakers, and primarily because when I do, I already own a pair of vintage Batman x Converse hi-tops. That said, it appears that I’ve finally encountered the only exception: if these Batmobile Chucks were available in adult sizes, I would stock up on a few backup pairs and wear them EVERY FUCKING DAY.
Get on it, Converse.
