FASHION TIPS FROM COMIC STRIPS

In which, LadyLawga created a psuedo-cyberpunk lolita coordinate inspired by Jason Todd/Red Hood, and now I want to make a Red Hood purse (says the girl who still insists that she doesn’t really like Jason Todd all that much…).

I love chunky platformed space boots and tulle netted skirts, so I’m sold. I can only hope that the Red Hood purse is carrying a makeup purse that is in the shape of a domino mask ;)

It was truly a challenge to figure out what colour this guy’s hair was, by the way. Black? Black with the white streak? Brown? With the streak? Red? They really need to make their minds up over at DC.

I know that I just said that I wasn’t a Jason Todd fan, but if DC hired Yasmin to redesign all of his civilian wear to look like this, I think that I could probably fall in love with JToddz too…

On a side note, this outfit also kind of reminds me of Ben Wyatt’s ensembles in Parks and Recreation (swoon!).

Suggestions on how to achieve this look!

• Any style black bomber jacket.
• Aviator sunglasses. Red or black lenses.
• White tee for inside.
• Dark gray booty shorts (because when I think of Jason, I think “Hot Damn” XD). If you don’t like shorts op for fitted pants or capris but be sure to tuck into boots.
• Black knee length boots.
• Black fingerless gloves.
• Helmet is definitely op but suppose to be the red hood part XD.
• Leg accessories is also op.
• Accessorize!

Plus, I can only presume that she wears the red glasses under the red helmet.

AW YEAH SIDEKICK WONDERS!

In honor of the 71st anniversary of the debut of Dick Grayson as Robin the Boy Wonder in Detective Comics #38 (April 1940), we will be having a Robin meetup on Saturday (Day 1) at Boston Comic Con 2011!

Since almost everyone who’s staying over at Wayne Tower Titans Tower that weekend owns a variation of a Robin costume, we figured that we’d extend our Robin enthusiasm for a proper Tumblr cosplay meetup! Come meet up with us in your best Boy/Girl Wonder getup, meet other, represent your favorite Boy/Girl Wonder, and pay homage to undoubtedly the best sidekick in comic history. So grab your domino masks and pixie boots and get ready take photos and Batusi with us!

Invite your friends!! All other incarnations of Robin (i.e. Nightwing, Red Robin, Red Hood, Stephanie Brown’s Batgirl costume, etc) are absolutely welcome to the meet-up/photoshoot :D And for those who are dressed as non-Robins or in civvies, feel free to swing by and say hi!

The exact location and meetup time is still tentative until the exhibit hall floor plan and panel schedule is released, but I’ll keep you all updated - just remember: same bat-time, same bat-channel!
