After drawing Wonder Woman in a dress, it’s only fitting that I draw one of Wonder Girl. (also I can’t seem to kick out the Wonder Woman/ Wonder Girl themes from my head yet! and would you want to wear this dress? I would totally wear this dress.)
Back to sifting through emails and work….graghhedit: this works as a skirt and blouse ensemble. I meant to say that instead of dress, now why did I say dress? Darn this late hours and bad TV shows scrambling up my brain XD———————————————————————-

Truth be told, I think that I may actually love this redesign even more than Hanie’s Wonder Woman dress! The boatneck top is a lovely interpretation of Donna’s original boxy Wonder Girl tank top, while the full star-spangled skirt creates the perfect balance (and a flattering silhouette) for the entire look.

Loki inspi sketch. Avengers versionnn. Will upload a dress and skirt inspired by Lady Loki / Comic Loki latur. I drew up the three designs when I did the Thor one but I haven’t had the time to color them till tonight. Preparing for Free Comic Book Day on top of working is killer >O<’.
It’ll need a bit to assemble but here’s the jist of it!
Black jacket or trench coat. Sleeves or no sleeve, the most important part would def have it lined in a darker / olive green,
Bandage-esk top. If anything a black low cut top.
The under shirt/bandeau would be scalloped shape or laced as long as it’s yellow.
Belts belts belts!
Fitted pants, preferably of the pleather sort.
Any kind of shoes really as long as they’re black or darker green. I drew ones inspired by Jeffrey Cambell wedge boots. I thought spikes seem to go hand and hand with Loki since they kinda look like horns. Don’t think I could ever confidently wear those myself though hah.
Accessorize! I drew lots of arm wear, bracelets, and one of those collar necklaces : ).
Hope you guys are gonna see the Avengers. Especially the premiere because I know I ammmm /sings.

This Loki-inspired look includes all of the styling essentials that a mischievous villain could ask for: multiple hip-slinging belts, studded footwear, bodycon bandaging, fingerless gloves, and just the right accents of green & gold.

The Avengers, by kaciart.
All of these Avengers-inspired ensembles hit the right notes, perfectly capturing the key elements of each hero’s look, such as the minimal designs in The Hulk and Hawkeye’s outfits and the structured, tailored digs on Iron Man.
In short, kaciart is definitely delivering some straight-up Avengers REALNESS in here.

Romance Was Born Designs Marvel-ous Looks For Australian Fashion Week [link]

The whimsical Australian designer duo, Romance Was Born, kicked off Australian Fashion Week with a super-heroic collection for Spring/Summer 2013, sponsored by no other than Marvel Comics. With a collection that includes a tangible incarnation of Jack Kirby’s famous Kirby Krackle (comprised of textured beads and baubles) floating on a cosmic purple and charcoal ensemble, the Romance Was Born x Marvel Comics collaboration is truly a walking work of art.

Straying away from the blatant iconography and overuse of superhero emblems, Romance Was Born raised the bar for the fusion of fashion and comics, utilizing a mix of both comic and couture techniques to create high fashion looks inspired by Jack Kirby and the creators of Marvel Comics. These 25 looks feature anatomical trompe-l’œil prints, textured embellishments, halftone patterns, and colorful motifs of Marvel’s finest making cameo appearances throughout the collection.

Although the fashion may be a bit audacious for everyday wear, these looks provide a great style guide in how to add a touch of comic-inspired glamor into your wardrobe, from jewel-toned color coordination to structured silhouettes to bold prints.

Avengers redesigns (Hawkeye, Captain America, Thor, & Loki), by gingerhaze.
I love how simple and casual these looks are - Noelle translated the key elements of each costume into stylish, layered outfits (especially in Thor and Loki’s looks). For those of you who feel like dressing up in spirit for The Avengers this weekend (but don’t fancy wearing anything too costume-y), this is a great guide as to how to pull styling inspiration from The Avengers to assemble your own cute ensemble.
Also, is it just me or does Captain America’s motorcycle jacket kind of remind you of Volante Designs’ Captain America Jacket?

Spider-Man Lolita, by LadyLawga.
That Spidey mask bow is absolute perfection! The red webbed cardigan works impeccably to create a more casual lolita look with the solid blue tones and the minimal ruffles. This bold ensemble is, of course, punctuated with a pair of matching webbed Mary Janes*.

*GET IT?!

LOOK AT THAT DISCO BALL HELMET, YOU GUYS.
This is absolutely amazing… though it makes me regret ditching tryouts for the roller derby team in college :(

A new take on the old Catwoman.

Catwoman, by Erica Henderson.
I love this modernized take on Catwoman’s classic digs; Erica successfully transformed Selina’s signature purple and green wrap dress into a simplified (yet incredibly wearable) belted mini-dress that I wouldn’t mind stealing for myself. The purple wedged ankle boots look both stylish and comfortable, while the cross body backpack is just purrfect for toting your stolen jewels to the safety of your catacombs.
