Finally done with this! I did a dress design based on Phoenix’s costume (originally designed by Dave Cockrum) - I imagine in real life the phoenix logo on her chest will be embroidered in beads, as do the gold details on her sleeve.
This kinda took me forever. I’m terrible with backgrounds - I tend to make them very cluttered, so it took quite a while to clean everything up so she will be the focus of the artwork.

This Phoenix-inspired evening gown is gorgeous - I love the detailing on Jean’s puffy sleeves.
… Does it come in red?

Hipster Cyclops & Hipster Phoenix, by Joel Carroll
[Inspired by Nate Bellgarde’s recent X-Hipsters!]
Okay, I kind of really dig these a lot, specifically:
Also, I really love how Scott’s visor works into this redesign quite impeccably.
Sign O’ the Phoenix t-shirt, by Mighty Fine, $25
Available in Phoenix (green), Dark Phoenix (red), and White Phoenix of the Crown (white), in women’s sizes S-3XL.
This shirt is utter perfection; the silhouette of Jean Grey within the Phoenix symbol is simple and chic, and I love that this shirt is available in every incarnation of Phoenix. Personally, I’m quite partial the the classic green Phoenix look.
But more importantly: Which Phoenix are you?
And when the world knocks you down, you rise up like Jean Grey.
