mingdoyle:

Manfully resisting the compelling urge to buy this wicked cute “Onomatopattern” cardigan from Threadless. Comic book SFX!!

This cardigan is such a classy incarnation of the bold comic onomatopoeia attire that’s usually featured here. This would be perfect for adding a subtle touch of Batman ‘66 charm into your daytime wardrobe.

Lazy Oaf x Batman Collection Channels ’90s Batmania [link]

British creative label Lazy Oaf launched a Batman-inspired apparel collection for both men and women, just in time to celebrate the success of The Dark Knight Rises. Known for their bright, pop culture-infused graphics inspired by fast food and Disney, the East London-based design team’s take on Batman channels the fun, kitschy side of the Dark Knight. From cropped baseball tees to logo-splattered dresses, the Lazy Oaf x Batman collection is actually quite reminiscent of the material we saw in Batmania craze of the early ’90s that followed the popularity of Tim Burton’s first Batman film.

Some of the items are currently sold out, however Lazy Oaf will be restocking the collection within the next couple of weeks. Fortunately, this gives me enough time to scrounge up some of my leftover SDCC pocket change to pick up a few items for myself!

Check out the entire Lazy Oaf x Batman collection on ComicsAlliance!

Mark Newport Knits Superheroes for ‘IN ACTION’ Installation [link]
Currently showing at the University of Texas Downtown Gallery, artist Mark Newport’s IN ACTION installation is a quirky fusion of pop culture and knitwear, featuring yarn-assembled suits inspired by Batman, Spider-Man, Captain America and more. Newport’s work creates a dialogue of the viewer’s perceptions of superhero costumes, safety, and gendered activities such as knitting and comics.
Newport’s trompe-l’œil designs are a juxtaposition of archetypal masculine heroes and the cozy security of a hand-knit sweater, with knitted acrylic threads in place of Kevlar-lined spandex to create a life-sized costume.

Adam West, in a Batman sweater (or, as described by Chris Sims, “the greatest sweater of all time”)
Can somebody please knit me a sweater of an image of Adam West wearing a Batman sweater?

Monster Movie Sweater, by Мишка, $126 (sold out).

My heart will forever ache for not getting this Мишка sweater, featuring the large faceless Galactus seen on The Can’s cover art for Monster Movie.

Damian Wayne, rocking a cat sweater (inspiration), by vi-jyna.
Truth be told, I own not one, but two dresses that feature cat motifs; every time I wear them, I can’t help but think of Damian Wayne.

Captain Marvel sweaters, $3.95 each, circa 1940’s.
Words cannot convey how badly I want this sweater, preferably in white. However, now I feel inspired to make a similar sweatshirt, except with Mary Marvel or Black Adam on it instead.
Another Captain Marvel sweater ad below, featuring Billy Batson himself (modeling a sweater with himself on it. WIN.) :
