Velvet Batman dress, by All That Jazz [circa 1992]
[currently on sale at Lynn’s Rags]

Despite the fact that this dress is approximately 20 years old, it features some of this year’s hottest (or rather, recycled) trends: velvet, bodycon, mesh cutouts, and The Dark Knight. This dress was originally part of the All That Jazz x Batman Returns retail collection that was released in conjunction with the film in 1992.

Conclusively, Batman never goes out of style.

Vintage Kryptonite necklace, $29.99, RetroNew.
“Make YOUR SUPERMAN Defenseless” (uh, what?) with this vintage Kryptonite necklace. Personally, I prefer my Kryptonite to be a more vibrant shade of green, but I really like how charming and inconspicuous this pendant is.
Regardless, my search for a Kryptonite ring continues forth~!

So I received these wonderful vintage bat shoes in the mail this past weekend, however I may end up returning them. Although the shoes are technically brand new and didn’t display any signs of wear, the patent coating (note: they’re not real leather) started cracking and flaking off (presumably due to aging) within minutes of trying them on.
Do any of you have any DIY/shoe repair tips on how to salvage my shoes or should I just return them? :-/

bettyfelon:

I received a remnant of vintage Batman fabric in the mail that is approximately 18” x 48”.
It’s a cotton woven that’s just the slightest bit thicker than calico prints, so I was thinking of either using this fabric to make a mini pencil skirt (fully lined, to make it sturdier) or cutting it down to make two square kerchiefs and a large hair bow. I was also thinking of re-purposing the images on the unusable remnants of fabric into appliques or brooches (similar to this kitten badge by I’m Your Present).
Thoughts?

Help, I can’t decide on what to make out of this fabric! Perhaps some of my fashionably crafty readers can help me out? :)
