An early birthday present for Betty Felon aka Fashion Tips for Comic Strips!

After a brainstorming session about creating a hair bow inspired by Huntress’ crossbow, Girls Read Comics and I made an open calling to artists to redesign their favorite character with bows incorporated into their costumes. The amazing Yasmin Liang stepped up and created this gorgeous Wonder Woman as an early birthday present (note: my birthday is on the 19th *hint*). My heart is simply bursting with joy over this piece - thank you so much, Yaz ★
Be sure to check out more of Yaz’s artwork on her blog and on Fashion Tips From Comic Strips! And for those of you who wanna try your hand at giving superheroes a Betty Felon makeover, feel free to send them over to fashiontipsfromcomicstrips@gmail.com (or via Twitter) :)

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: J’onn J’ozz and M’gann M’orzz stylin’ on you.

PERFECTION. I love their twee, 50’s digs, especially the coordination of M’gann’s peter pan collared blouse with the red cigarette pants.
Dudes, please take notes on J’onn’s ensemble.

Sartoralist Meets Superhero: Dr. Harleen Quinzel, but you wouldn’t know it.
From now on, I’m going to be posting these every Sunday so I don’t burn myself out entirely. See you then!

I love how this ensemble modernizes the retro influences that we usually see with Harley redesigns, specifically through the patterned socks and the extra wide cuffs on her cigarette pants. The minimalist red and black sticks with Harley’s signature costume, while the patterned bow collar blouse and socks add an unexpected, yet playful vibe to this look.

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: Out on the town with Helena Bertinelli and that predatory look in her eye.
I don’t think any of my usual pick-up lines would work on this one!

I love the balance between casual sleekness and hard edge in this redesign of Helena’s civvies. Further proof that you don’t need a horrid belly window to look sexy and tough.

By Yasmin Liang.
PRO TIP: If you plan to wear the same ensemble on your nights out, be sure to wash and care for your garments often and properly (and/or keep a supply of backup suits in your Batcave).

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: On the street with Clark Kent, at least when he’s not wearing his favourite letter jacket.

When it comes to men’s fashion, I’m a sucker for casual layers - they always end up looking so comfortable, yet incredibly put-together, and Clark’s look is no exception. I also love how the rolled up jean cuffs and the work boots punctuate this ensemble with a dose of Smallville swagger.

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: Guy and Tora heat up (cool down?) the room together.
I know I’m a day early but it seemed appropriate to submit these guys together and wish everyone a Happy Discount Chocolate Valentine’s Day.

I simply cannot get over how much I love the contrasting bold black details on Tora’s ice blue coat. Guy Gardner’s ensemble is classy and simple, but I can’t help but want to switch his jacket for a modern black motorcycle-cut jacket.

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: You’ll only ever see Selina Kyle once, but you’ll never forget her (or everything she stole from you).
On a sidenote, I don’t think I do that patch-pocket on the skirt justice, because it really is something to admire. Take a look at the outfit here!

Selina looks so divine in white. Plus, she’d totes love that sneaky patch pocket.

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: Michael Carter and Ted Kord know they’re in demand and are loving it.
Fun fact: Michael was queued to be published last night but apparently didn’t want to without Ted.
Thanks to everyone who put suggestions in my ask/comments! They have been duly-noted.

Now, I declare this PROPER BOOSTLE SWAGGER~
Track jackets, suits, skinny ties, neutral tones, white kicks, and two of my favorite superheroes ever. And while I’d love it if Yaz threw in more dashes of blue in both of their outfits, I love that all these Sartorialist Meets Superhero redesigns are more subtle than most redesigns I’ve seen.

Sartorialist Meets Superhero: Barbara Gordon, dressed for what may be her last summer with us as Oracle, unfortunately.
On a sidenote, I was terrified of putting Barbara in the wrong kind of wheelchair (I’m still quite sure all I’ve done is draw something vaguely alluding to one). Thanks to Google though, I got to read all about this lovely woman.

Seeing Barbara in casual stripes is a refreshing break from her signature wardrobe comprised of green shirts, black tank tops, and button-up oxfords.
